AGGHHHH!!!! I'm so frustrated right now because I've been trying to upload a video that my dad and I made. (It's a music video) But, the internet signal strength is too low for it to work! I will try again tomorrow, but here's our latest update! Today was our first day back on the bikes after our rest day in Memphis. Yesterday we spent 3 hours at Graceland, and I probably know more facts about Elvis than I ever thought possible. Not only did we take a tour of Elvis' home and gravesite, but we also got to see his two private jets, his car museum, some of his most famous outfits as well as various other exhibits showcasing the highlights of his life. The hotel that we stayed in was ALL ABOUT ELVIS!! Not only did they have pictures of him in every room, but they had a radio station that ONLY played Elvis all the time as well as a guitar shaped pool! It was crazy, and it was VERY hot all day! Today we went 68 miles, and we are now in Ripley, TN. Today we had to go to a bike shop in the morning to get our bikes tuned up, and the guy looking at our bikes just LOVES Canadians. He has been to Calgary a few times just to cycle and thinks that Calgary has the best bike trails in all of North America. Of course, dad was very excited about this and nodded in agreement. After this guy finished talking about how much he loved Canada, he told this joke: "Q:How do you get 1000 Canadians out of your swimming pool? A: You say, 'Will you please get out of my swimming pool?'". haha It's funny because it's true. That's one thing that I've noticed about being down here in the South. People don't ever apologize or say excuse me. Most of the time when I thank a waitress or a server at a restaurant, they don't even respond, and if they DO say anything, it's just a simple "Mmm-Hmm". But, as Kristen (my sister) always says, "Kill'em with kindness!". Here in Tennessee, a lot more people have actually come up to talk to us about our trip (because again, they are just SO confused). During our lunch break today, a woman who learned about our trip, asked us our first names so that she could pray for us! I told her that prayers are always greatly appreciated! So far, God has blessed us with amazing weather and safe travels. Though there have been tornadoes, flash floods, and tropical storms in the area, we are still safe and well! PTL. Tomorrow, we are getting up bright and early for our 12th day of riding. Hope everyone is doing well! Pictures to come soon... A P.S We had another flat tire today. Awesome.

ReplyDeleteAt least it is not snowing there like it is in Strathmore! I am glad you had the day of rest...as the third commandment says "Remember the Sabboth day and keep it holy"...Monday was your Sabboth day!
